Abigail Gorman is a passionate human rights activist and former qualified Young People Violence Advisor. In that role, she supported young people facing harm from violence and abuse, with a particular focus on those most marginalised in society. She now works as a Policy and Public Affairs Manager, which includes campaigning for stronger laws, systems and protections for survivors of domestic abuse and other forms of violence.

Outside of work, Abigail has a deep love for theatre. She believes it is a powerful tool for exploring and reflecting on the human experience. Theatre allows us to confront social issues, challenge societal norms, and provoke much-needed thought and conversation. It can inspire, heal and connect people on a profound level – especially when it highlights stories that are too often sidelined.

Abigail is proud to take part in The Vagina Monologues, a powerful production that speaks to the diversity of women’s experiences, celebrates our strength and resilience, and encourages solidarity in the fight against gender-based violence and injustice.

Amy took part in The Vagina Monologues, a fundraising performance for Deaf-initely Women in September 2023. It was powerful and empowering to perform with an admirable women/nonbinary cast. She is delighted to perform in The Vagina Monologues again. Acting is a brand new hobby for Amy and they hope to perform on the stage more in future.

Briefly about Amy, she is interested in psychology and currently studying forensic psychology. In their spare time, Amy enjoys spending their time with their family and walking their dogs. To escape from daily life, camping and embracing nature and simplicity in life is something she loves.

Cherie Gordon is an actor, director, writer and workshop facilitator based in South East London. She graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Drama and Applied Theatre.

Fifi Garfield began her acting journey at 19, joining the London Deaf Drama Group, an amateur company where she discovered her passion for performance. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Fifi has built an impressive career in theatre, television, and film.

In 1994, she landed her first professional role as Emma in a UK tour with London Bubble, directed by Adrian Jackson. Since then, she has appeared in more than 20 TV and theatre productions, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft.

One of Fifi’s career highlights was playing Hermia in Midsummer’s Dreams at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2014—an unforgettable performance directed by Paula Garfield with Deafinitely Theatre. She is now looking forward to touring this summer with Deafinitely Theatre in The Vagina Monologues. In addition to acting, Fifi has also ventured into stand-up comedy, bringing her unique story and perspective to the stage.

Recent TV and film credits include: See Hear (BBC), The Coffee Morning Club (LumoTV), Johan’s Choice (short film), Code of Silence (ITV), and Where the Light Gets In (short film). Fifi is also the host of Sign2Win, LumoTV’s very first Deaf game show, which has quickly become a fan favorite.

Beyond performing, Fifi is a multifaceted creative working across media as a freelance cameraperson, editor, director, BSL consultant, and translator (English to BSL), in addition to her ongoing work as an actress.

Lynn is a passionate activist, consultant, and director of a Sign Festival that brings deaf and hearing communities together to celebrate deaf talent through art, music, and media. With over 20 years’ experience in social care and theatre, she’s all about people and creating space for connection. In 2020, she launched the #WhereIsTheInterpreter campaign, a powerful call for access and equality during the COVID-19 crisis. Lynn is also a proud intralingual relay, and staycation adventurer with her loyal dog Jack by her side.

Mae is an actor and presenter known for blending British Sign Language (BSL) with performance. Her work includes being one of the four main presenters on CBeebies Magic Hands, an advert campaign for SignHealth and expanding into live performance, she performed a duologue with her sister in A Night in Sign, a cabaret event by Fuse Theatre and then went onto perform it at the Edinburgh Deaf Festival.

Maral Mamaghanizadeh is a British Iranian multimedia artist and contemporary jewellery maker with an MA from Birmingham City University. As the founder of SignLoom Studios, based in the West Midlands, Maral blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design, creating thought-provoking wearable art and multimedia installations. Her work explores identity, cultural heritage, and the power of storytelling through materials. With a passion for innovation and expression, she continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jewellery and visual art.

Moona is a Somali British Deaf Black Feminist who has a passion for the arts and photography. She loves to travel and shares body positive ethos wherever she goes.

Representation, diversity and inclusion are pillars of Moona’s passions, and she is so excited to be involved in this show again especially going on the tour!

Moona couldn’t be happier to be involved to raise awareness about the power of womenhood, uplifting women to encouraging body acceptance in all shapes and sizes in British sign language.

Raphaella Julien is a skilled Deaf Actor, Dancer, BSL Director, Movement Director and performer from Manchester.

Yvonne Cobb is an accomplished BBC Food and Lifestyle Deaf Presenter, Celebrity Cook and Deaf role model.

As a broadcaster, cook and Deaf advocate she has broken down many barriers and achieved several notable firsts during her career. Yvonne is known as the first Deaf cook to appear on popular TV shows such as This Morning (ITV) and Morning Live (BBC One), where she presents cookery demonstrations and promotes the use of British Sign Language (BSL). She has also co-hosted BBC’s See Hear since 2018 and became the first Deaf female reporter on BBC News in 2022.

In addition to her broadcasting work, Yvonne is an award-winning entrepreneur who runs her own cookery business. She utilises BSL to teach cookery and healthy eating skills to people of all ages, both in-person and online. With over 20 years of experience in teaching and assessing BSL, Yvonne also delivers training on various subjects both Deaf and hearing communities. She has a particular focus on empowering women, raising awareness about the menopause in BSL and tips for a happy and healthy lifestyle and regularly shares reels and tips across her social media accounts.

Outside of her professional life, Yvonne spends a lot of time with her husband and three grown up children, and enjoys a variety of interests including crafting, decorating, gardening, DIY, travel, cycling, pilates and yoga. Recently, she has developed a passion for cold water swimming which is extremely invigorating.
