Deputy Head of Lighting

Working alongside the Head of Lighting, this role will have responsibility for all LX requirements for the Rep productions and will assume a hands-on role in the day to day running of the department. You will ensure excellent customer service is consistently provided to staff, customers and visitors to The Rep and UVB events. This role will require you to deputise for the Head of Lighting and ensure the efficient technical management of all events and productions.

There is also responsibility to ensure that digital technology and sustainability are at the heart of every project.

Casual Technicians (all disciplines)

Reporting to the Head of Department and Senior Technicians, Casual Technicians will provide technical services, install, operate and maintain staging & technical equipment (primarily stage but not excluding lighting, sound & video) for Birmingham REP productions, visiting companies and conferences as required.

Casual technicians provide technical services, install, operate and maintain technical equipment primarily in one of the theatre’s Technical Departments: Lighting, Stage or Sound & Video.

This key role provides technical services for Birmingham REP productions, visiting companies and conferences.

Casual Technicians will at times be required to flexibly support across all disciplines to ensure that all technical, maintenance and operations are delivered efficiently and effectively.

This includes ensuring excellent customer service is consistently provided to staff, customers and visitors to The REP & UVB (Unique Venues Birmingham) events while ensuring the efficient technical management & running of REP events & productions. They will ensure that digital technology and sustainability are at the heart of every project.

UVB Administration Assistant (Closing Mon 3 June at 12pm)

This new role will have responsibility for general administration support and co-ordination across both companies. This will involve extensive diary management for the Rep Commercial Director, UVB Hospitality Director and the UVB Business Development Director, arranging appointments, supporting with arranging exhibitions & events, and general admin tasks.

This is a very important and busy role. You will be vital to the smooth running of the teams and it will be crucial that you facilitate great communications internally. You must be able manage work quickly and manage several tasks at one time, all while keeping calm and professional.

Director of Hospitality (Closing Mon 6 June at 12pm)

This role presents an exciting and unique opportunity to work across two separate business areas to deliver a first class hospitality experience.  This will require the successful candidate to lead both events and catering trading subsidiaries of Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Working in collaboration with the Commercial Director, you will instigate all aspects of operational delivery including, catering provision, cost of sales, business forecasting, operational payroll, budget management, SOP’s, health and safety, training, recruitment across The Rep’s trading subsidiaries.  This role is perfect for someone who is commercially minded, sales driven and innovative and wants to make an impact in the city with a new venue, team and brand.  We want someone who understands how excellence customer experience contributes to the triple bottom line and successful business outcomes.

Finance Officer

The Finance Officer works within the Finance Office and is responsible for:

  • The management of purchase ledger invoice processing and payments for the commercial subsidiary companies of The Rep group; and
  • A range of finance/cashier tasks to support all companies in the The Rep group.

The Finance department is responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the theatre and its commercial subsidiaries.

UVB Sales Manager (Closing Mon 17 June at 12pm)

As Sales Manager, you will work alongside the Business Development Director to generate revenues and promote sustainable growth for UVB and BREL.   You will demonstrate a proactive approach to your sales approach to the business and contribute to the financial sales targets across both trading subsidiaries.

This role is responsible for generating sales for UVB across its portfolio of venues.
