Audio Described Performances

Our Audio Described Performances offer a live description of what’s happening on stage in addition to what the actors are saying. This can be done using headphones that you can borrow from The Rep. Headsets can be collected upon arrival from our cloakroom with no pre-booking required. Alternatively, you can access audio description through the Mobile Connect app. Scroll down for more information on how to use the Mobile Connect app.

Customers wishing to enjoy an Audio Described Performance should be in their seats 15 minutes before the performance begins in order to hear the full description of the set and costumes.

Where stated, some Audio Described performances are accompanied by a preceding Touch Tour (booking required, subject to availability). Touch Tours are free and give blind or partially sighted theatre-goers the opportunity to explore the set before the show begins. You can feel the set, props and costumes and familiarise yourself with the voices of the actors and audio describer.
