Jemma Churchill

Jemma trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Jemma was in the original production of NATIVITY! The Musical as Mrs. Bevan which began it’s long successful journey at Birmingham Rep.

Most recently seen on the BBC as Jean in Doctor Who, in Doctors filmed in Selly Oak and plays headteacher Mrs. Peacock in the comedy Ladhood. Jemma played Sandra in the award winning comedy drama Alma’s Not Normal.

In spring 2022 appeared in London in the award nominated drama about the outrageous playwright Joe Orton Diary of a Somebody as Edna Welthorpe.

Before theatres closed in 2020 she appeared as Meg in Birthdays Past, Birthdays Present, the world premiere in Scarborough SJT & UK tour written and directed by Sir Alan Ayckbourn.

She worked virtually during theatre closures, notably at The New Vic Theatre on The Hoard Digital and recorded audiobooks, radio plays and began to write and record her own dark comedy stories which can be heard here: www.soundcloud.com/jemmachurchill.
