Dame Arlene Phillips is a showbusiness legend honoured as DBE in 2021 for her services to dance and charity; she has worked at the highest level in film, television, theatre and arena events, as well as becoming one of Britain’s favourite television judges. As a television judge, Arlene has starred in Over The Rainbow (Talkback Thames); So You Think You Can Dance (19 Entertainment/Dick Clark Production/BBC); Strictly Come Dancing, Strictly Dance Fever, DanceX, Let’s Dance For Comic Relief (BBC). Arlene is director of new musical The Cher Show, on UK Tour from Spring 2022. Her theatre credits as director and/or choreographer include: Grease (UK Tour); We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre/UK and International Tours); Starlight Express (Apollo Victoria Theatre/Starlight Express-Theatre, Germany/International Tour); The Wizard Of Oz; The Sound Of Music (London Palladium); Saturday Night Fever (London Palladium/Minskoff Theatre/Apollo Victoria Theatre/UK and Internation Tours); Allelujah, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Bridge Theatre); Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour (UK Tour); Lord Of The Dance (Point Theatre/International Tour); Monty Python Live At The O2 (O2 Arena); The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber (Curve Theatre) and The Manchester XVII Commonwealth Games (City Of Manchester Stadium). Choreography for television includes: Russel T Davies’ A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Royal Variety Show (BBC) and The Olivier Awards (ITV). Films include Annie (Rastar); The Meaning Of Life (Celandine Films/The Monty Python Partnership) and Legend (Embassy International Pictures N.V). Choreography for music videos includes work with Freddie Mercury; Whitney Houston; Elton John; Queen; Diana Ross; Tina Turner; Duran Duran; Aretha Franklin; George Michael; Cliff Richard and Robbie Williams.
