A sad little girl meets two magical creatures whose mission is to bring joy to children. To help her, they tell her an ancient story…
After the death of his wife, a grieving king forbids all celebration. Laughter, music, and happiness are banned across the city. But a brave teenager dares to resist.
Kachal-e Kaftar-Baz (The Bald Pigeon-Boy), a poor but clever boy, challenges the King’s cruel law with the help of his pigeons – mysterious messengers in Iranian folklore who reveal secrets and guide those in need. Though often underestimated, Kachal, a typical character in many Iranian stories, is rich in wit, imagination and courage.
Written and directed by Nasrin Khanjari, and based on a traditional Iranian folklore first recorded by Samad Behrangi and later retold for children by Lissa Jamileh, this show celebrates the power of intelligence over force, and joy over fear.
Through humour, music and magic Kachal reminds us that even in the darkest times, one brave heart can bring laughter back to the world.
