After the death of his wife, a grieving king forbids all celebration. Laughter, music, and happiness are banned across the city. But a brave teenager dares to resist.

Written and directed by Nasrin Khanjari, Kachal-e Kaftar-Baz (The Bald Pigeon-Boy), is the story of a poor but clever boy, who challenges the king’s cruel law with the help of his pigeons – mysterious messengers in Iranian folklore who reveal secrets and guide those in need.

Performed in Farsi (with an English Summary) by The Iranian Community Theatre of Birmingham.
