Through REP Foundry we are proud to identify, nurture and develop new stories, new voices and new artists from the West Midlands.
Now in its fifth year, our award-winning development programme offers year round support to writers, theatre makers and directors. They receive mentorship, have access to the staff and resources of The REP and have budgets to make, share and test work. Productions that have been created in REP Foundry and produced by The REP include Delightful, (sorry), Baby Daddy, Nothing, Lady Lust, Abuelo, The Forensics Of A Flat and Unknown Male.
2019 Applications Now Open
Birmingham Repertory Theatre is looking for emerging theatre practitioners from across the West Midlands for its acclaimed artist development scheme.
Being a REP Foundry artist offers exciting new theatre practitioners the opportunity to become Associates of The REP. We will offer free professional development through a series of workshops, mentoring and masterclasses – alongside opportunities to make and share work in front of an audience. Previous Foundry artists have gone on to have work produced by The REP, in the wider region, nationally and internationally and have forged career-changing partnerships with The REP and fellow Foundry artists.
REP Foundry will run from January – November 2019.

The deadline for applications is Monday 1 October 2018, with interviews taking place week commencing 15 October.
