Ormiston's Got Talent

This event has passed

Ormiston’s Got Talent is a performing arts showcase and competition, created exclusively for the pupils of Ormiston Academies Trust. Ormiston’s Got Talent aims to enrich the lives of young people through performing arts, culminating in a live national final at The Rep.

Ormiston Academies Trust first launched the Ormiston’s Got Talent competition in 2022 through the generous funding of Ormiston Trust. Now in its third year, the competition has expanded to include regional heats so that even more students had the opportunity to perform for an audience.

This year they have received 80 entries from 222 students across 33 schools within Ormiston Academies Trust. After an extremely difficult process, the judges narrowed entries down to select 116 regional finalists.

The Finalists

Regional heats took place on Tue 5 and Tue 12 Mar at Ormiston SWB Academy and Ormiston Victory Academy. In total, 41 acts competed head-to-head to be named the regional winners of Ormiston’s Got Talent 2024.

The standard of performance was incredibly high this year and our judges were blown away by the astonishing talent across Ormiston Academies Trust; as a result, the judges also nominated regional wildcard acts to proceed to the national final, along with the eight highest-ranking acts across the two regional heats:

  • Evie-Lea Jeavons & Amber-Mai Seville – Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy
  • Molly Darby & Zachariah Andrews – Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy
  • OHA Band – Ormiston Horizon Academy
  • The Cast of Matilda – Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy
  • Lily-Mai Astbury -Sandymoor Ormiston Academy
  • Josephine Ifeanyi-Osia – Ormiston Maritime Academy
  • Vedika Prabhudass – Stoke High School
  • Scarlett Hogg – Ormiston Denes Academy
  • Jacob Cuming – City of Norwich School
  • Isla-Jade Nelson – Ormiston Venture Academy
  • James Langmead – Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy
  • Ethan Ashworth & Jessica Wilkinson – Ormiston Rivers Academy

Each act will take to the stage to perform two three-minute pieces in front of a live audience of staff, students, and supporters. Finalists will be competing to become the third name on the prestigious Ormiston Academies Trust Performing Arts Shield. The overall winner will receive a £1000 performing arts experience and an invitation to perform at the Ormiston Academies Trust Annual Conference in November 2024.

The competition will be hosted by celebrity musician and mentor Myleene Klass, alongside Y11 student Jadon Senti from Cliff Park Ormiston Academy! Jadon blew the judges away with his incredible monologue performance at the regional heat. We look forward to having him present the show in July.
