LGBTQTeehee!
Comedy Masterclass
The Rep’s ground-breaking project for the LGBTQ+ community returns for another 10-week programme this autumn.
We will be hosting a FREE Comedy Masterclass on Sat 16 Aug 12pm – 4.30pm with renowned comedian Angie Belcher. Come along to get a taste of LGBTQTeehee!, meet the team, and have a go at creating some jokes of your own.
Following the masterclass, there will then be the opportunity to take part in our 10-week project running through the Autumn and culminating in an evening of Comedy at The Rep in November.
Open to anyone from the LGBTQ+ community – through comedy, we hope to build resilience, reduce stigma and encourage honest discussions around mental health in a fun and supportive environment.
Supported by professional comedians and wellbeing practitioners, you’ll discover your comedy voice, craft your persona, and turn your experiences into a stand-up comedy set that’s both empowering and hilarious.
Everyone has a story. Let’s make the world a little brighter — and a lot funnier — together!
Feedback from participants…
I am enjoying being with like-minded people. I feel I can be myself. If I am having a bad mental health day, I know I will be understood.”
I have discovered a lot about myself. It’s a journey, not sure where it would lead. An adventure.”
