Watson's Rehearsal Journal #3
Elementary, My Dear Festivities!
Greetings dear reader!
By Jove, what a week it’s been at Baker Street (or rather, the rehearsal room)! The scent of mince pies hangs in the air, and we’ve been dashing faster than Santa’s sleigh, through our very first stagger through.
Here are all my latest deductions from the last week of rehearsals of Sherlock Holmes and The 12 Days of Christmas:
Under the expert tutelage of our fight coordinator, the indomitable Renny Krupinski, myself, Sherlock and the entire cast have been perfecting our moves—making sure every leap, lunge and death defying stunt looks thrilling and remains as safe as a clue locked in Holmes’ desk drawer. The larger sequences are now coming together beautifully, like puzzle pieces in one of our infernal deductions.
As we inch closer to the mysterious and thrilling realm of tech week (that most shadowy of theatrical milestones), our sound sleuth, Luke Swaffield, has been recording mysterious pre-recorded moments that even Inspector Lestrade would deem suspiciously impressive. Between jingles, gunshots, and ghostly carols, Luke has the uncanny ability to make the very walls hum with Yuletide intrigue.
Add to that a few new props, and some truly glorious wigs from the incomparable Andriea Nelson—so fine they’d make even Queen Victoria reconsider her bonnet.
The entire cast are giving it their all—each one a shining star in this merry mystery. Spirits are high, laughter abounds, and I suspect even Holmes himself might crack a smile… if only between deductions.
Until next time, dear readers—keep your mulled wine warm, your magnifying glass handy and your Christmas spirit elementary!
