Ahead of this, we will hold open auditions on Thu 19 Mar for local actors to be part of this magical new production.

This Peter Pan Open Call Casting follows our previously hugely successful call for our forthcoming ‘Proudly Birmingham, Distinctively Rep’ new production of Shakespeare’s ever popular A Midsummer Night’s Dream – which resulted in three local actors from the call being cast.

Birmingham Rep Artistic Director and Director of Peter Pan, Joe Murphy said:

Our entire ethos for 2026 and beyond is to bring big, bold and daring programming that is Proudly Birmingham and Distinctly Rep – and what better way to showcase our Brummie Pride than to find talent right here in our city, giving local actors opportunities to perform on their home stage!

“We were completely overwhelmed by the success of our previous casting call for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, so I’m thrilled to open up the audition process once again for this year’s Christmas show, Peter Pan, and hopefully continue to create a space for local actors and performers to shine on our stage and be part of something truly magical. It’s vital that our theatre reflects the voices, stories, and artistry of the community we serve.

It only takes a dash of fairy dust and the happiest of thoughts to experience an unforgettable trip to Neverland for the festive season. Bursting with imagination, this faithful re-telling of J M Barrie’s much loved children’s story is given a sprinkling of Rep magic this Christmas.

This magical production is adapted by Phil Porter with original music from Ruth Chan, with The Rep’s Artistic Director, Joe Murphy at the helm of the (pirate) ship!
