For all our avid Rep-returners you may remember back in September when we unveiled our bold, brand new 2026/ 27 season from our newly appointed Artistic Director, Joe Murphy full of new takes on classics, adaptations of best-sellers, and a host of new commissions, all made in Birmingham.
And with Joe‘s Rep directorial debut right around the corner with the epic romantic saga of Sweet Henry V opening this month (and almost sold out, so get your tickets while they last!), we thought we should kick off the New Year with a bang, and announce…

BBC Big Band: George Gershwin & Cole Porter - The Great American Songbook

Back by popular demand, the internationally acclaimed BBC Big Band returns with The Great American Songbook, and this time, they’ll be joined by renowned conductor Barry Forgie, and special guest vocalists Matt Ford and Emer McParland.
This one night only performance, will celebrate two of the most influential figures in American musical history, George Gershwin and Cole Porter.
Chariots of Fire

Directed by our former Artistic Director and Director of last spring’s record breaking production of A Thousand Splendid Suns, Roxana Silbert, The House will welcome Mike Bartlett’s acclaimed stage adaptation, Chariots of Fire this Autumn as as part of its first ever UK tour!
Based on the multi-Oscar and BAFTA-winning film and inspired by the extraordinary true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams as they strive for glory in the 1924 Paris Olympics, Chariots of Fire features the iconic music of Vangelis in this celebrated story of courage, conviction and the power of belief.

The Bald Pigeon Boy

The Iranian Community Theatre return to The Rep with a magical family show based on the traditional Iranian folktale, Kachal-e Kaftar-Baz or The Bald Pigeon-Boy a poor but clever boy, that challenges the King’s cruel law with the help of his pigeons.
Rich with wit, music and magic, this show celebrates the power of intelligence over force and joy over fear.
Please note – This performance will be performed in Farsi, with no captions or subtitles however there will be a summary of the stories in English for non-Farsi-speaking audience members.
The Brummie Ensemble

Adult drama group, The Brummie Ensemble, are taking to the stage for their very first public performance right here at The Rep!
Devised by Birmingham based multi-award-winning theatre company Women & Theatre and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, The Brummie Ensemble brings together Brummies from different walks of life, generations, backgrounds, identities, and experiences to co-create exciting, original theatre celebrating this beautiful city and the vibrant and diverse communities that call it home.
Redacted: The Cover-up of a Cover-up of a Cover-up

From the award-winning company behind The Man Who Thought He Knew Too Much and The Life Sporadic of Jess Wildgoose, Voloz Collective are set to bring their genre-smashing, time-bending epic, REDACTED: The Cover-Up of a Cover-Up of a Cover-Up to The Rep this Spring.
This high-octane, darkly comic thriller is an adrenaline-fueled odyssey through America’s most absurd manhunt described as “Fargo meets The Office meets James Bond“!
Palestine: Peace de Resistance

Following a sold-out London run and critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe appearance, award-winning comedian Sami Abu-Wardeh brings his award-winning show, Palestine: Peace de Resistance to The Rep in May.
As a Palestinian born in exile, only to be displaced by yet another war, Sami posits in this compelling show – can resistance be funny?
Send in the Clowns - Queeny Todd

With Send In The Clowns‘ raucous drag revue show Unpopular proving to be ever so… popular, we just had to bring them back for a second round with the fantastically filthy Queeny Todd!
Fatt Butcher alongside a stellar line-up of the Midlands’ finest drag & cabaret talents including Dahliah Rivers, Blü Romantic, and Alanna Boden will be taking on the ‘Shakespeare of Musical Theatre’, the man, the myth, the legend – Stephen Sondheim!
