
New Shows Coming to The Door and Studio
As much as we love a full house in… The House… We have to show some love to our more intimate performance spaces! And later this year (and into 2026) we’ve just announced six new shows joining us in The Door and Studio!
From a double bill of stand-up comedy events; the much anticipated return of the Jaivant Patel Dance Company; and a trio of National Theatre Live film screenings – we have something for everyone this Autumn/Spring season, with even more to be revealed in our Artistic Director, Joe Murphy’s debut season announcement (coming very soon)!

Town Hall Meeting with our Artistic Director Joe Murphy

Ahead of his much-anticipated debut season here at The Rep, our newly appointed Artistic Director, Joe Murphy wants to invite the creatives, companies, and communities of Birmingham to come and meet him and talk all about the future of The Rep and the importance of culture in creating a thriving Birmingham and West Midlands.
Tickets are FREE and anyone is welcome to attend any of the town hall events, but each will have its own focus:
Wed 10 Sep is focussed on freelance creatives from the region
Wed 17 Sep is focussed on creative companies
Wed 24 Sep is focussed on the communities of Birmingham and the West Midlands
Wed 1 Oct is an online town hall for those who can’t attend in person (a joining link will be sent in advance of the event)

Bangla Month presents Comedy with SMASHBengali

LGBTQTeeHee! Comedy Festival

Ready to find your comedy voice? 🌈🎤 LGBTQTeeHee! is back!
Birmingham Rep’s ground-breaking project for the LGBTQ+ community has returned for another 10-week programme where a special group of people have gained skills in stand-up, and turned their stories into empowering comedy performances. You’ll laugh your socks off as each comedian presents 5-minutes of brand-new comedy material.
Headlining the show will be a very special guest, and Brummie’s comedy royalty, Yshee Black (Late Night Lycett).

ASTITVA

From the award-winning Wolverhampton based Jaivant Patel Company, ASTITVA meaning existence, is a powerful and evocative dance production by award-winning choreographer Jaivant Patel, that shares the real-life stories of British-Indian gay men.
Through beautiful movement, it explores identity, love, family and tradition. Honest and moving, ASTITVA brings queer South Asian stories to the forefront, and invites everyone to reflect on what it means to belong – and to be yourself.
And for all our Film Buffs out there, we also have three additional National Theatre Live screenings in The Studio!

Mrs. Warren’s Profession

Filmed live from the West End, this powerful production dives deep into the cost of ambition and the clash between old traditions and new ideals.
