Yshee Black

Yshee Black (pronounced whYSHEE BLACK) is the self proclaimed Alison Hammond of drag. She is known for curating and hosting lip-sync competitions in her home city of Birmingham aptly named The Church of Yshee from 2017-2022, named as one of Birmingham’s best nights out in The Guardian.

Over the years she has toured the UK with drag queen story time theatre collective Fantabulosa and created her one woman show for kids JOY. She has performed in events up and down the country, including Tuckshop productions in the West End such as Dick Whittington, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Gals Aloud & Tuckshop West End Live. Yshee is also a regular host and performer at queer events such as Birmingham Pride, Manchester Pride, London Pride & Mighty Hoopla.
She currently works in media, recently appearing on Channel 4’s Late Night Lycett hosted by comedian Joe Lycett. She also hosts various projects such as Capitalbuzz Year Book, interviewing contestants on various Rupaul Drag Race shows such Canada, UK, Down Under, UKvsTheWorld and has interviewed many film actors such as the cast of Everybody Is Talking About Jamie and Marvels Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
