Poems of Strength and Solace
with Roz Goddard & Romalyn Ante

Romalyn Ante’s new collection, AGIMAT, is named after a Filipino amulet or charm, passed down from parents to child in the hope that its magic will protect and empower them.
Written amidst the chaos and heartbreak of the pandemic witnessed as a practising NHS nurse, this new collection questions what it means to fight, what it takes to heal and the stories and trauma we inherit from our families.
Roz Goddard’s latest collection, Small Moon Curve, is an intimate poetry memoir that explores the restorative power of love, faith, family and beauty following her diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer.
In this moving testimony, Roz discovers a powerful affinity with Tess d’Urberville (from Thomas Hardy’s novel, Tess of the d’Urbervilles), who becomes a spiritual companion during her illness and recovery. These collections consider the stories we inherit, the things we bear witness too and the power of stories to rescue and renew us.
