Kate Lovell is a Goldsmiths-trained disabled and neurodivergent theatre maker with specialisms in directing, writing and dramaturgy. Kate is an artist-activist and is committed to making work that addresses social injustice, giving voice to and making work with marginalised groups. Kate has been an Associate Artist with Graeae and Queens Theatre Hornchurch, where she was also a member of the Creative Leadership Team. In 2022, Kate directed for Graeae, Vital Xposure, the Almeida and Separate Doors, where she is currently a guest director. Kate has written and directed work for outdoor and site-specific spaces including the basement of Shoreditch Town Hall, underneath Brixton railway arches, Kings Cross and St Pancras stations and Greenwich and Docklands International Festival 2022.

Kate’s advice to Foundry artists:

My advice to you as a Foundry artist is to lean into and embrace who you are as an artist and know that it is your essential “you-ness” that makes your work excitingly unique.”
