Bashar Hassuneh

After graduating from Birzeit University with a BA in Psychology, Bashar Hassuneh set to follow his ambition of cinematic set design and property mastering, while also acting in a few short films, pieces of video art and participation in public art. In 2010, he co-founded “Habkar”’, a contemporary shop in Ramallah old city, west bank. “Habkara” which is the Arabic verb for “collecting and resembling things”. Selling art crafts, recycled accessory and furniture designs. After the store opened, a culture of up cycling was thriving in Ramallah.

Bashar is well known for his contributions to films such as Salt of this Sea (dir. Annemarie Jacir, 2008), Omar (dir. Hany Abu-Assad, 2013), The Idol (dir. Hany Abu-Assad, 2016), Wajib (Annemarie Jacir, 2017), Mafak (dir. Bassam Jarbawi, 2018), The Reports on Sarah and Saleem (Muayad Alayan, 2018), Infidel (Cyrus Nowrasteh, 2019), and 200 Meters (Ameen Nayfeh, 2020).
