How will my payments be taken?

Your payments will be taken by card. If you choose to pay monthly (Silver or Gold only), or for your annual payment to auto-renew, payment will be taken via Continuous Authority. This is a type of automatic recurring payment used by many online subscriptions.

Unlike a Direct Debit, Continuous Authority takes payment directly from your card rather than your bank account, so should your card change or expire, we will need to contact you to update our details.

If paying annually, we will notify you before taking payment for your Rep Friends membership each 12 months.

I haven’t received my Rep Friends Membership card

Your membership card should reach you within 10 working days of you purchasing your membership. If you haven’t received your card after this time, please call the Box Office on 0121 236 4455 or email development@birmingham-rep.co.uk

You can access your benefits straight after purchasing your Rep Friends membership. Simply log into your online account, or show your order confirmation email received after membership purchase to any of our Rep team.

How do I find out about members events?

Details of our member events will be listed within an events calendar on the Rep Friends webpage, and shared in the member’s e-newsletters.

What should I do if I lose my Rep Friends membership card?

If you lose your Rep Friends membership card, please get in touch with us by calling the Box Office on 0121 236 4455 or emailing development@birmingham-rep.co.uk

How can I change my address or update my Rep Friends membership details?

If you’d like to update any of your details including the email or address we hold for you, please login using this link, or email us on development@birmingham-rep.co.uk

Can I use my Friends discount in conjunction with other ticket offers?

The ticket discounts associated with our Rep Friends membership scheme cannot be used in conjunction with any other ticket offers.

Why can’t I pay for a Bronze membership monthly?

As a Bronze Rep Friends membership costs £45, a monthly payment option would be too costly for us to administer.

Can my membership be under two names?

Your Rep Friends membership will need to be under one name. At Silver and Gold Friend level, however, you have the ability to bring a guest to events, and Gold Friends are also able to name themselves and one other person in their website and programme acknowledgement.

What happens at the end of my Rep Friends membership period?

If you pay annually and choose not to auto-renew your membership, at the end of your membership period your benefits will cease and your membership card will become invalid.

I’m a Rep Beginner – what does the new scheme mean for me?

If you are currently a Rep Beginner and wish to join our new membership scheme, we would be very pleased to welcome you as a Rep Friend. Your Rep Beginners membership will be unaffected, but please note that the benefits associated with these memberships cannot be used in conjunction with one another.

What should I do if I want to cancel my monthly Rep Friend membership payments?

If you would like us to cancel your monthly membership payments, please get in touch by emailing development@birmingham-rep.co.uk

What happens if you can’t take payment from my card?

If we can’t take payment for your Rep Friends membership, we will get in touch. Should we not hear back from you, your benefits will cease and your membership card will become invalid.

Do I have to give you my email address?

Similarly to when you book tickets online, we need your email address in order to send you confirmation of your membership. Your exclusive Rep Friends e-newsletters, partner discounts, priority booking information, and latest event details will also sent to you by email.

Why does The Rep need to store my card details?

If you have signed up for a monthly membership, or chosen for your annual membership to automatically renew at the same time next year, The Rep will need to store your card details in order to complete these rolling payments.

All personal data is processed and stored securely, for no longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was first collected. We will comply with our obligations and safeguard your rights under the GDPR at all times. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Can I choose to make a regular donation without being a Rep Friend, or make a higher level single gift?

Absolutely. There are many ways to support the vital, charitable work of The Rep. If you’d like to support The Rep without being a Rep Friend, or support us at a higher level, please get in touch with development@birmingham-rep.co.uk to find out more.

Can I upgrade my Rep Friends Membership within my membership period, even if I pay annually?

Yes, you can. All we will need to do is to take payment from you for the cost difference between the Rep Friends membership levels. You will then be stewarded at the higher level until your renewal date.

Why don’t Bronze Friends get event invitations as a benefit?

Due to the lower value of the Bronze Rep Friends package, we are unable to deliver events at this level. When possible, we will attempt to open out events to Bronze Friends for a small ticket fee, and on an ad hoc basis.

As a Gold Friend, will my support always be acknowledged in programmes?

Wherever a full show programme is produced, the support of our Gold Friends will be acknowledged. This may on occasion be in the form of an e-programme, rather than in printed copy. Please also note that not every production will have a dedicated show programme.

The small print

We will do everything we can to offer members the best priority booking experience, however, please note, priority booking may not be available for every event.

Ticket discounts apply to a maximum booking of 4 tickets for each production. Exemptions may apply to some performances.

All levels of Rep Friends membership comprise a benefits value representing the cost of the membership to the theatre. The benefits can be purchased separately at the stated price. Any amounts given over and above this benefits value are given freely as a donation and are eligible for gift aid.

Bronze: Benefits value £30.10, Donation value £14.90

Silver: Benefits value £43, Donation value £107

Gold: Benefits value £108, Donation value £292
