Description

As an unusual year comes to a close, join us for a magical festive treat this Christmas in a COVID-safe environment. With the current lockdown restrictions due to come to an end on 2 December, The Nutcracker At The REP will provide audiences with a joyous end to 2020.

To ensure peace of mind when booking, if performances are unable to go ahead all ticket holders will be offered a full refund.

When Clara's toys come to life at the stroke of midnight, she embarks on a fantastical journey through a winter wonderland.

Be whisked from  the heart-warming Christmas Eve party where Fritz and Clara meet the magician Drosselmeyer, to the  rousing battle between King Rat and the toy soldiers, through a  flurry of Snowflakes  to  the Kingdom of Sweets, where Clara meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and her prince .

The production will feature Peter Wright's award-winning choreography which was adapted by David Bintley for the acclaimed production at the Royal Albert Hall.

For Christmas 2020, Birmingham Royal Ballet's Carlos Acosta and The REP's Sean Foley have created a special version of The Nutcracker . This new, 80-minute magical experience will conjure up the most dazzling moments and characters from the timeless full-length show.

Brought to life by Birmingham Royal Ballet's world-class dancers, this enchanting spectacle features the Royal Ballet Sinfonia performing Tchaikovsky's cherished score live.

Don't miss this family favourite, guaranteed to sprinkle Christmas cheer.

Due to the ongoing pandemic and social distancing, we can only sell up to 50% of our seats per performance. Please consider supporting The REP and Birmingham Royal Ballet by making a donation of £20 to help cover the cost of an empty seat. Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful match funder, every donation will be doubled, making your support go twice as far! By 'Saving a seat' you will help secure the future of both organisations and ensure our work on and off stage can continue.

Please note this discount is available online, but is only valid if at least one member of the party is under 16 and does not apply to the lowest priced tickets.
 

Fees and Charges
Please note there is a transaction fee of £2.50 on all payment types. This covers administration costs and enables us to provide a dedicated booking service. This charge does not apply to transactions under £10, group bookings over 50 and school group bookings. We also waive this charge if you are a REP Friend. Please talk to a member of our BOX office team if you require further information.

 

Keeping You Safe

We are thrilled to be welcoming you back into the theatre. To help you to feel safe and enjoy your chosen performance, we have introduced a series of new safety measures such as socially distanced seating, hand sanitising stations, temperature checks and enhanced cleaning.

Booking Your Seats

In order to help maintain social distancing within the auditorium, all seats are grouped in pairs or threes. For larger bookings, single seat requests, access requirements or any other queries, please email ticketservices@birmingham-rep.co.uk with your ticket request and a contact number and a member of our box office team will get back to you. Alternatively, if you need to speak to someone, we have a limited phone service available on 0121 236 4455, which is open Monday to Friday from 12pm – 3pm. There may be a queue to get through to a member of the team, so please be patient.

In line with government guidance, please ensure all tickets are for the same household or bubble. Please note that you will not be allowed to leave single seats next to your booking.

If you feel you may have to leave the performance midway through, please book seats nearest the aisle, which are available on either side of the auditorium. 

After booking, if you don't receive your tickets digtially, make sure to check your spam / junk folder for your ticket confirmation. 

 

Single Seats

We are requesting that all single seat bookers contact the box office directly, this is to safeguard the customer and to ensure the seating in the auditorium remains socially distanced. 

 

Your Visit

Please arrive 5 minutes before your allocated auditorium entrance time, which you can find on your ticket. On entering the auditorium please sit in your allocated seats only, in order to maintain socially distanced from other audience members.

Please note we cannot admit latecomers and a cloakroom service will not be available, so please avoid bringing large bags.

If you feel too unwell to attend on the date of your performance, we are happy to offer a credit note for another performance.
