Sky Comedy Rep Scratch Nights

This event has passed

The Rep are staging script-in-hand readings of 8 new short plays, ahead of their final production this summer.

In these scratch nights, the rising stars of the comedy world are testing out new work in front of an audience for the first time.

We invite theatre-lovers, artists and playgoers to join us in this creative process, watching and feeding back on this exciting new material.

We have 8 short plays to showcase. The theme of all these plays: a proposal in a park.

There will be 4 plays read in each scratch night. The readings will be followed by a Q&A with the opportunity for audiences to provide thoughts, ideas, and questions.

These scratch nights are a key part of Sky Comedy Rep, our comedy writing talent development scheme with Sky Studios.

Headed by Rep Artistic Director, Sean Foley, and Sky Studios’ Creative Director of Comedy, Anil Gupta, with script development leadership from Dec Munro, this bursary and mentorship scheme gives early-career comedy writers the opportunity to have their ideas and scripts developed in collaboration with the finest talents in the industry.
