Light Post Theatre Company Taster Session
If you are interested in joining Light Post Theatre Company or want to find out more, we are holding a Taster Session on 16 January at 6.30pm.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 11 January to register your interest.
Following the success of its first three years, The REP is looking to grow the Light Post Theatre Company. We are looking for men of African, Caribbean, or mixed African or Caribbean heritage, aged 16 to 25, from across Birmingham, who are interested in theatre and performance.
Led by a professional theatre director, the company meets weekly at The REP to receive theatre training, rehearse and perform. It's free to join so if you've always wanted to develop your performance skills or build your confidence, this is the perfect opportunity.
Here is what some of the current members have to say:
“Light Post has excited and encouraged me to expand on and nurture my craft.”
“Light Post has helped me break my barriers and see the potential within myself.”
Light Post Theatre Company originated as part of a scheme that aimed to improve the mental well-being of young men of African, Caribbean, or mixed African or Caribbean heritage. This recruitment is part of Shifting The Dial - a new scheme initiated by Birmingham Repertory Theatre, First Class Legacy, Centre for Mental Health and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
