For / With / By: Northern Stage Young Company - Where Do We Stand
Newcastle is wherever we stand
It's salty sea air and bright orange tans
It's river and railway and concrete and steel
It's Monument, Goth green and Farne Island seals
It's heels-in-hand confidence and not wearing coats
It's screams at St James' from red-raw hoarse throats
It's culture and kindness and blue Baltic cold
It's five for its silver and six for its gold
A city spectacle illuminating untold stories and unheard voices on what it is to live, work and dream in Newcastle in 2018.
Where Do We Stand? is a heady fusion of spoken word, live music, physical and visual landscapes. It's an adventure, an escapade, a feat, a disturbance, a riot.
Prepare to question where you stand on love, work, globalization, peace, rebellion, sovereignty, designer brands and bent bananas.
An unmissable, bold theatre event made in, and by, a mass of young people living and dreaming in Newcastle right now.
Collectively written by Kamal Kaan, Lee Mattinson, Laurence Wilson and young companies from Newcastle and Gateshead.
