Gig meets theatre meets depression meets a tidal wave of glitter!

My Beautiful Black Dog is a new piece of electrifying gig-theatre from Bridgette Aphrodite for people interested in music, comedy, poetry, theatre, and the difficult and beauteous complexity of our mental health.

This show challenges the urgent stigma around depression and encourages the audience to take ownership of their own black dogs whilst channeling, wild dance moves, swagger-boss costumes and banging tunes!

Brigitte Aphrodite is a punk poet, musician, theatre maker and feminist showgirl. With her band she has played Leeds and Reading Festivals, Bestival, Latitude, Kendal Calling and supported Kate Nash and Josie Long on extensive UK tours. Brigitte is a proud mentor for youth charity, Arts Emergency. She has facilitated workshops for Ideastap, National Youth Theatre, The Egg Tooth Project and has invented the sport Frunning (a mix of running and dancing!)
