Snow Guaranteed Across The UK
The REP's much-loved live stage show of The Snowman is set to bring a flurry of magic and entertainment for families across the UK from now until January 2018.
The treasured classic will be flying over 500 miles across the UK to bring its magical mix of exquisite dancing and live music to Manchester, Glasgow, Southampton, Milton Keynes and Brighton. And this year, it will also be celebrating a record-breaking 20 consecutive years in London's West End at The Peacock Theatre.
Based on the book by Raymond Briggs and the film directed by Dianne Jackson and produced by John Coates, the ever-sparkling live stage show of The Snowman transports children into the wintery wonderland of a boy and his magical snowman with a mix of enchanting dancing and live music – including the famous title song, Waking in the Air.
Composer Howard Blake said; “I'm thrilled that The Snowman is celebrating an amazing 20 years in London's West End and also embarking on a festive UK tour. There are very few shows that enjoy such a remarkably long life and its continuing success and appeal to new generations of audiences is a tribute to the artistic team that created the show, the dancers, the children, the musicians and Birmingham Repertory Theatre who first staged the production back in 1993. I look forward to many more years of Walking in the Air with audiences old and new.”
The Snowman tours this winter to: The Opera House, Manchester (8-12 November), Theatre Royal, Glasgow (15-19 November), The Peacock, London (23 November – 31 December), The Mayflower Theatre, Southampton (10-14 January), Milton Keynes Theatre (17-20 January) and Theatre Royal, Brighton (24-28 January).
