School's In For Summer!
With the summer holidays on the horizon we're gearing up for our Summer School programme aimed at young people from ages 7 and up.
From 31 July – 4 August, The REP is teaming up with mac Birmingham to offer an exciting week of working with Shakespeare in fun and fresh ways. Bard In The Park sees participants rehearse an abridged, engaging version of one of his plays and on the last day it will be performed in mac's Outdoor Arena in Cannon Hill Park. Suitable for those aged 13 – 18, the summer school runs each day at mac, with an end of week performance taking place at 4pm on Friday 4 August. Cost £120. For more information visit the mac's website here.
Returning by popular demand, Spy School runs from 7 – 11 August at The REP and is aimed at those aged 7 – 12. Tasked with a mission at the beginning of the week, participants will embark on an exhilarating story about spies, espionage and secrets. Combining activities, improvisations and workshops, it is a fantastic opportunity to explore Birmingham's premier producing theatre. Cost £70. For more information click here.
As a Ramps on the Moon partner, The REP continues to champion and advocate accessibility in theatre. From 14 – 18 August, we will be running a free, week-long workshop designed specifically for British Sign Language (BSL) users. BSL Summer School is perfect for those aged 8 – 12. The sessions will combine games, team work exercises and performance and be fully BSL interpreted, with all access requirements met. Cost free.
