Join Our Challenge And Help A Young Person This Christmas
Over the last two years we've been lucky to have been selected for The Big Give Christmas Challenge and now, we're thrilled to announce that we'll be taking part in this year's Big Give Christmas Challenge from 29 November to 6 December.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a great opportunity for members of the public to have their donations doubled by giving online during these dates. This year, we're aiming to raise £6000 to fund our Young REP youth theatre bursaries which would enable us to offer 30 disadvantaged young people a positive and life-enriching opportunity.
As one of the UK's leading theatres, learning and participation is central to our work. The Young REP works with young people aged between 7and 25 giving them valuable experience of interacting with other young people which in turn helps to improve social skills and really boost their self-esteem. Unfortunately for some young local people they are not able to afford to join in and benefit from the skills and confidence that drama and theatre can supply, due to circumstances beyond their control.
At The REP, we believe a passion for theatre is something that should be shared and accessible to all. By providing bursaries, we can offer a life-changing opportunity to a range of young people, including those who have not successfully engaged with mainstream education and are in need of positive influences and experiences. Through the Big Give and subsequent bursaries, we are aiming to diversify our youth theatre and ensure it is representative of the city of Birmingham.
How you can help?
If you believe in the power of theatre and can help us make a difference to a young person's life then please donate online between 12 noon on Tuesday 29 November and 12 noon on Tuesday 6 December 2016. Your valuable donation could be doubled thanks to existing REP donors and The Big Give's philanthropic partner, The Reed Foundation.
We will only be able to double donations while our match funds last, so don't delay and please make sure you donate as soon after 12noon on Tuesday 29 November as possible.
Thank you for helping The REP to make a difference this Christmas.
