Support Our Appeal
2021 marks the 50th birthday of our iconic home in Centenary Square. With your help, our exciting Open House project will pave the way for the next 50 years.
This transformation of our public spaces will ensure the best possible experience for all visitors and generate vital additional revenue to protect the future of The REP. We will be able to throw open our doors to many more visitors, audiences and communities.
All increased revenue will directly support our activities on and off stage such as producing world premieres, delivering our extensive creative learning programmes in local communities and providing a platform for the theatre makers of the future.
The project has already secured a grant of £1.47m from the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership and a contribution from Birmingham City Council. We are therefore launching our Open House Appeal to help us raise a further £250,000.
I am very proud to be a Trustee of this amazing theatre. The REP's impact on the industry and my home city cannot be underestimated and that is why this project is so important. Open House will safeguard The REP's legacy and future, ensuring it can continue to inspire the next generation.” – Adrian Lester CBE, Trustee of the Board
The Open House project is vital to the future sustainability of The REP and will pave the way for a new and hugely exciting chapter in the history of this iconic theatre.” – Sir Howard Panter – Chair of the Board
The REP is an iconic Birmingham institution and plays a vital role in the cultural life of the city. At such an unprecedented moment in the city's history, the Open House project will ensure the survival of such an important organisation and greatly enhance the recent development of Centenary Square'.
