Gender Representation

Gender Representation

What do you think about the representation of gender in the play? Do you think that men and women are characterised in a particular way?
The play represents a very masculine world and I think because of that the more interesting characters are the females because how they interact in a very masculine world is somehow more interesting. I think that to get on in that world women did need to play by the rules of success and those rules weren’t necessarily orientated around traditional ideas of femininity. Women needed to be quite cut throat and I think that makes them some of the more intriguing characters in the play.
