As Ti Moune walks into the sea to die, her parents sing that Ti Moune will always belong to them and be loved by them. As she dies tree is born within the walls of Daniel’s home. This tree shelters rich and poor alike and as Daniel’s son grows up he can often be seen playing in it with a young peasant girl.
