The final goodbye

Lyra and Will make a pledge that even though they can’t be together in the flesh they will come to the botanical gardens once a year at Midsummer’s night to be in the same place at the same time for the rest of their lives.

Balthamos the angel appears, he is going to shut their window. He also helps Will destroy the knife once and for all.
