An unknown world

Lyra and Will embrace each other. They tell each other that they love each other. They fall asleep in each others arms.

In the morning we realise that Pantalaimon has returned and that Will has acquired a cat daemon.

Serafina appears. She has bad news for the children. She tells them that every time a window is left open Spectres appear. All windows must be closed and that the angels are busy doing this task as they speak. Only one window can remain open and Lyra realises that she has to be the one to release the dead back in to the world.

Slowly, it dawns on Lyra and Will they are from different worlds and this can’t be. They must return to their own worlds and never see each other again.
