Religion And Faith

Religion And Faith

What do you think the message of Pullman’s trilogy is?

Will I think these books can come under a lot of criticism for being ‘God bashing’ and I don’t think that is fair. All they do is question, and encourage an inquisitive mind, regarding our relationship with religion as individuals. I think Pullman encourages exploration and the opening of doors rather than condemning religion.

I also think this book is about power. It encourages one to reflect upon how societies and individuals relate to powerful authorities, do we just accept their power or do we question it?
