Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company presents
The Snowman
Fri 15 Jan 2010 – Sun 31 Jan 2010
Main House
The live stage show based on Raymond Briggs' The Snowman
Music and lyrics by Howard Blake
Now that the car park next door to The REP is closed, roads and car parks around The REP get very busy in the evenings, especially when there are big events at the NIA and Symphony Hall. We advise you to check their websites before your visit, and to allow extra time for your journey.
When a young boy’s snowman comes to life on Christmas Eve the two set off on a night time quest for adventure. On their travels they meet dancing penguins, reindeer and crowds of the Snowman’s friends.
Will the Snowman escape the clutches of the evil Jack Frost as he soars through the night sky? And will he get his new friend back home before Christmas morning?
Featuring the classic song Walking In The Air by Howard Blake, The REP’s production of The Snowman has thrilled audiences since its premiere in 1993, and makes a welcome return to Birmingham this January.
See more videos, photographs from the show and lots more on the Snowman microsite.

Hello, Please could you tell me if row 'A' is at the front of the stage or is it row 'U' > In your opinion which are the better seats for the snowman performance. Best Regards
Steph from The REP
Hi Teresa - thank you for your message. Row A is at the front of the auditorium. There are lots of 'best seats in the house' at The REP, and where you choose to sit is largely down to personal preference. The first three rows of the auditorium (A, B & C) are looking slightly upwards at the stage, and for this reason many people prefer to sit nearer to the middle of the auditorium. If you'd like some more help with deciding where to sit, the Sales Team on 0121 236 4455 will be happy to advise you. We look forward to welcoming you to The REP.
Sandy Fisher from Tamworth
Could you tell me what the youngest recommended age this performance is suitable for? Thanks
Steph from The REP
Hi Sandy - we recommend age 4+ for The Snowman.
Rebecca Taylor from Shropshire
Please can you confirm if this is really on in January, after Christmas?
Steph from The REP
Hi Rebecca - thanks for your message. Yes, The Snowman is in January 2010, following A Christmas Carol to form the second of our double-bill of Main House Family shows. We think it'll be a great New Year treat to beat the January blues! We hope to see you there.

Hi, I have just seen the Snowman at the Peacock Theatre in London. Absolutely wonderful - can't wait unti you do it again. Is there a DVD of your production - I know there is an animated version, but I would like one of your production, even from previous years. many thanks. Cindy

James and I went to see 'The Snowman' last night. It was a fantastic show. The dancing was magnificent as was the music. It was spellbinding from start to finish and the finale was memorable. If you get a chance to see it, you won't be disappointed.
