I am already looking forward to bringing the family to see this! TLTW+TW has always been one of my favourite children's stories. What a Christmas treat!

I would love to bring our Year 3 and 4(60+pupils) to see the Lion the witch and the Wardrobe. Could you please give me the cost to attend a morning performance just prior to Christmas. What is the ratio staff to children . It would be a wonderful chance for them to see theatre.
I came to see the Snowman , it was spectacular
Kind Regards
Caroline Richards

Hi Caroline
Thanks for your message. Ticket prices for schools vary depending on which performance you choose to attend, but for example a 1.30pm performance w/c 12 Jan would be £10 per person with one in every 16 tickets free.

If you telephone the Sales Team on 0121 236 4455 they will be delighted to help you find the most suitable performance for your group.

We look forward to welcoming you and your group to The REP.

Hi I love the fact that you have this as it is a fantastic children's story - I know I love it and can't wait for me and my friends to come watch - we just can't wait.

We saw this production at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in January-superb! We'll be seeing it again in Brum, that's for sure.

takin my family to see this, me and my brother used to watch the old cartoon and thought that was wicked the films are great now cant wait to come here and watch it looking forward to it something great for christmas

Hi,
Are any of the performances going to be signed for the hearing impaired children?

Could you tell me if you will be having afterdarks / spotlights / backstage tours etc during the run of this show.

I would like to book my tickets around these.

Good afternoon Mr Cleary,

In answer to your question, absolutely. Performances on the 15th December at 10.15am and the 30th December at 2.30pm are BSL interpreted.

We are keen to make sure that The REP is as accessible as possible for as wide an audience as possible. We have a number of access performances through out the season that include BSL interpreted, captioned and audio described performances. We also offer touch tours available for those with a visual impairment whose experience would be enhanced by gaining a physical familiarity with the set and costumes prior to a performance.

Please look for more information about our accessible performances on this website or request some information from our community engagement officer Selene Burn on 0121 245 2159 or via e-mail to Selene.burn@birmingham-rep.co.uk

Regards

Paul J Reece

hello just wondering when will the cast be announced for this and is anyone staying on from the west yorkshire playhouse production of last year?

Hi Andy

You can see full cast details under the 'Company' tab further up this page - we'll add biographies and photographs to this page nearer the time.

Hi there!
I am coming to see this production with my theatre group on the 2nd January next year, and am really looking forward to it.
i noticed that the director is Adrian Mitchell. Would you possibly be able to tell me if this is the same production that was at the RSC in the late 90s?
Thanks!

Hi Liberty

Thank you for your message. This production is indeed written (not directed) by Adrian Mitchell, and is the same script used in the RSC production - though this is a different production to the RSC's version. It was originally created by West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2004 and revived by them in 2007, and we're delighted that it will be coming to us this Christmas. In return our production of Peter Pan from last Christmas will play at West Yorkshire Playhouse this year.

We look forward to welcoming you and your group!

Hi
We came to see Peter Pan last year and our two children of 3 and 13 loved it, our youngest will be 4 at christmas and I was wondering if the 6+ rule was fixed or is it as an advisory note due to some slightly scary bits in the show?

Hi Hayley, thank you for your message. We advise age 6+ because we feel that younger children may not follow the story well enough to get the most out of the production - and yes, there are one or two bits which might be a bit scary for younger ones! It's entirely your decision whether to bring your 4 year old, but we offer these guidelines in an effort to ensure that you and your family get the most out of your visit to The REP and are able to choose a show that's suitable for your family's needs. If you need any further advice do drop me a line stephanie.falkiner@birmingham-rep.co.uk. PS - I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed Peter Pan!

Our School is coming to see this play, we are very excited and can't wait to enter NARNIA! We hope it's good!

BRILLANT !!! SAW IT LAST NIGHT !!!! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT !!!

I went to see this production last night. Absolutely fantastic!! The cast are excellent and you almost feel captured in the story.....

Thank you so much for a great day out the whole family enjoyed the show - my 4 year old did not speak the the whole time! and couldn't stop talking afterwards.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Many Thanks
Nicola

My children were totally mesmerized, a fantastic production...congratulations to all involved.

My family saw this on the first night and it was brilliant. The sets, costumes, acting, singing, dancing and music were all wonderful. My advice to anyone thinking about it would be BOOK NOW!

We saw this on Saturday and were blown away!! Even our 13yr old lad (who didn't want to come) was enthralled. Wonderful acting, fab set design, how it's used and the overall direction and attention to detail was stunning. The way the fawns & reindeer walked & trotted almost had you believing they were real animals. I've mentioned the great acting but a special mention for Aslan and the White Witch who both inserted great drama into this great production.
Well done, again, the Rep!!

Another superb show!
I brought my four children last Saturday and we were mesmorized from beginning to end!
The set & costumes were fabulous.
Thankyou for taking us on an unforgetable, magical trip to Narnia!

My husband and myself went to see the show on Saturday 29th November, it was excellent. This was our first visit to The Rep and we would certainly return.

I took the kids to see TLTH&TW last night and it was excellent. I jumped at the bangs more than the kids.

I'm Mac and I am 4 and I liked ALL of the show very very much, especially 'Asland'(!!) the lion. I jumped a lot especially when Aslan was roaring. It was so good it made my Dad cry and I told everyone at school about it!

Great production!! Good sets !! Really enjoyed it !!
Small quibble, the spring transformation scene maybe could have been a little more spectacular, the few crocuses didn't quite do it for me. also the White Witch,'tho brilliantly acted and very scary, was a little muffled during her major speech. Will be recommending the show to all and sundry !!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS & A GREAT NW YEAR.X

I have been bringing school parties to the Christmas production at the Rep. for more years than I care to remember, and it never fails to impress; but this year's show was absolutly outstanding. The children were captivated by it, and so was I! Many congratulations to all concerned.

A wonderful production - the entire cast were brilliant. Hats off to adults for playing children so convincingly. Myself and my family had a great night - thanks.

Hello. I'm age 9 and i went with my school (PENNYHILL PRIMARY) on the 5th December 08. I thought thet the lion, witch and the wardrobe was brilliant and I would love to visit again soon to see it with my family. XXX

Another outstanding success, saw it on 6th december, brilliant cast, marvellous set - superb!

Saw it on the 29th November, My wife and I along with our grandchild thought the show was outstanding, and very entertaining, the cast were excellent and the set was just right. If this is the standard of shows that are put on by the Rep we shall certainly come again

An inspired production, highly imaginative and the acting confirmed that you must be the tops in originality of production.
Have already booked for 'His Dark Materials' in Northampton. Grandchildren can't wait for it.

went saturday 6th december to see TLWTW had a fantastic time. I am a middle aged old geezer and went with my partner and we both had a ball. would recommend this for all ages. Have told others and they are going to come see it. Superb cast and stage and score

Well done Rep on an great performance

My first visit to the rep theatre was wonderfully rewarded with this splendid performance taking me back to my childhood but yet utterly enjoyable for adulthood too! If you loved lion, witch and wardrobe once upon a time, this won't disappoint. Very impressed with the theatre, cast, stage design and overall production. A must see for children and adults this christmas!

hello i saw it you were brillant i wish it had gone on longer! Lucy you were excellent at singing and Edmund you were brillant at pretending you didn't go into Narnia. Susan you were brillant at being the queen on the throne and Peter you were excellent at fighting the queen's wolf and the queen you were brilliant at making the drink and turkish delight come like magic and the slave you were brilliant at making that funny voice. Oh and Aslan you were brilliant at every thing. Professor and maids you were excellent too but there are so many of you i can't remember but you all deserve a round of applause producers instrument people brilliant i have got to go nearly bed time so bye, from Chloe Tierney-Martin (on my moms e-mail)

Really enjoyed the production. It had everything. I have given tickets to my nephews as xmas presents and I'm sure they will enjoy it.

Only one little grumble - the auditorium felt rather cold - I sat with my coat and gloves on - can you turn the heating up a notch ?!!!?? Hah! :-)

Had family down from Scotland and managed to get them some additional tickets. There were 6 of us in total and we thoroughly enjoyed the show. My son of 9yrs especially liked Aslan, The White Witch's laugh and Mr.Tumlus as he thought the way he walked was very realistic! Thanks! The Haggerty Family

My husband and I went to see this show on Saturday 13 December and took my son and my parents. My son enjoyed it very much and so did I. The costumes and set were very cleverly done especially the large coats used for the forest. Mrs Beaver had a lovely singing voice. I do not think you can beat live theatre whether it is a serious play or a Christmas show.

Well done to everybody involved in the production.

My daughter and I saw the show on Monday and had a wonderful time. There were alot of school parties in the audience but the atmosphere was electric.

The combination of music and script gave the play real atmosphere. Some great characters, we especially liked the beavers.

Well done to all!

It was brilliant! I can't imagine how much work went into it. My fave part was when Aslan came right close to us (I was four seats from the edge and my friend nearly jumped into my arms! It was hilarious!)
