Four young adventurers playing hide and seek in the country home of an old professor stumble upon an enchanted wardrobe that will take them to places they never dreamed of.

Stepping through the wardrobe door, they are whisked into the spectacular parallel universe known as Narnia – a fairytale land of magical proportions where woodland animals talk and mythological creatures roam…

Join us as we journey to the ends of the world with this timeless classic that children cherish and adults adore.

Caroline Richards from St Mary's RC Primary School Studley

I would love to bring our Year 3 and 4(60+pupils) to see the Lion the witch and the Wardrobe. Could you please give me the cost to attend a morning performance just prior to Christmas. What is the ratio staff to children . It would be a wonderful chance for them to see theatre. I came to see the Snowman , it was spectacular Kind Regards Caroline Richards

Steph Falkiner - The REP from Birmingham

Hi Caroline Thanks for your message. Ticket prices for schools vary depending on which performance you choose to attend, but for example a 1.30pm performance w/c 12 Jan would be £10 per person with one in every 16 tickets free. If you telephone the Sales Team on 0121 236 4455 they will be delighted to help you find the most suitable performance for your group. We look forward to welcoming you and your group to The REP.

Marcus J. Hubbard from Birmingham

Could you tell me if you will be having afterdarks / spotlights / backstage tours etc during the run of this show. I would like to book my tickets around these.

Paul J Reece from The REP, Birmingham

Good afternoon Mr Cleary, In answer to your question, absolutely. Performances on the 15th December at 10.15am and the 30th December at 2.30pm are BSL interpreted. We are keen to make sure that The REP is as accessible as possible for as wide an audience as possible. We have a number of access performances through out the season that include BSL interpreted, captioned and audio described performances. We also offer touch tours available for those with a visual impairment whose experience would be enhanced by gaining a physical familiarity with the set and costumes prior to a performance. Please look for more information about our accessible performances on this website or request some information from our community engagement officer Selene Burn on 0121 245 2159 or via e-mail to Selene.burn@birmingham-rep.co.uk Regards Paul J Reece

Hi Gary Thanks for your message. Steph from The REP

Hi Andy You can see full cast details under the 'Company' tab further up this page - we'll add biographies and photographs to this page nearer the time.

Liberty Jackson from Stratford upon Avon

Hi there! I am coming to see this production with my theatre group on the 2nd January next year, and am really looking forward to it. i noticed that the director is Adrian Mitchell. Would you possibly be able to tell me if this is the same production that was at the RSC in the late 90s? Thanks!

Steph from The REP

Hi Liberty Thank you for your message. This production is indeed written (not directed) by Adrian Mitchell, and is the same script used in the RSC production - though this is a different production to the RSC's version. It was originally created by West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2004 and revived by them in 2007, and we're delighted that it will be coming to us this Christmas. In return our production of Peter Pan from last Christmas will play at West Yorkshire Playhouse this year. We look forward to welcoming you and your group!

hayley broddle from Grimsby

Hi We came to see Peter Pan last year and our two children of 3 and 13 loved it, our youngest will be 4 at christmas and I was wondering if the 6+ rule was fixed or is it as an advisory note due to some slightly scary bits in the show?

Steph from The REP

Hi Hayley, thank you for your message. We advise age 6+ because we feel that younger children may not follow the story well enough to get the most out of the production - and yes, there are one or two bits which might be a bit scary for younger ones! It's entirely your decision whether to bring your 4 year old, but we offer these guidelines in an effort to ensure that you and your family get the most out of your visit to The REP and are able to choose a show that's suitable for your family's needs. If you need any further advice do drop me a line stephanie.falkiner@birmingham-rep.co.uk. PS - I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed Peter Pan!

Hwgs from Birmingham School

Our School is coming to see this play, we are very excited and can't wait to enter NARNIA! We hope it's good!

Marie Fogarty from Solihull

My family saw this on the first night and it was brilliant. The sets, costumes, acting, singing, dancing and music were all wonderful. My advice to anyone thinking about it would be BOOK NOW!

Vic from Admaston, Telford

We saw this on Saturday and were blown away!! Even our 13yr old lad (who didn't want to come) was enthralled. Wonderful acting, fab set design, how it's used and the overall direction and attention to detail was stunning. The way the fawns & reindeer walked & trotted almost had you believing they were real animals. I've mentioned the great acting but a special mention for Aslan and the White Witch who both inserted great drama into this great production. Well done, again, the Rep!!

Mrs D Seers from Weoley Castle, Bham

Another superb show! I brought my four children last Saturday and we were mesmorized from beginning to end! The set & costumes were fabulous. Thankyou for taking us on an unforgetable, magical trip to Narnia!

My husband and myself went to see the show on Saturday 29th November, it was excellent. This was our first visit to The Rep and we would certainly return.

I took the kids to see TLTH&TW last night and it was excellent. I jumped at the bangs more than the kids.

Mackenzie from Birmingham

I'm Mac and I am 4 and I liked ALL of the show very very much, especially 'Asland'(!!) the lion. I jumped a lot especially when Aslan was roaring. It was so good it made my Dad cry and I told everyone at school about it!

Christopher Scott-Reed from Birmingham

Great production!! Good sets !! Really enjoyed it !! Small quibble, the spring transformation scene maybe could have been a little more spectacular, the few crocuses didn't quite do it for me. also the White Witch,'tho brilliantly acted and very scary, was a little muffled during her major speech. Will be recommending the show to all and sundry !! HAPPY CHRISTMAS & A GREAT NW YEAR.X

Howard Bourne from Shrewsbury

I have been bringing school parties to the Christmas production at the Rep. for more years than I care to remember, and it never fails to impress; but this year's show was absolutly outstanding. The children were captivated by it, and so was I! Many congratulations to all concerned.

Ben from Birmingham

A wonderful production - the entire cast were brilliant. Hats off to adults for playing children so convincingly. Myself and my family had a great night - thanks.

Matthew David Breen from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham

Just thought I would share with visitors to this website the first paragraph of my review for a local online entertainment magazine on The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe: "Embark upon a journey into the familiar and magical world of Narnia, this Christmas at Birmingham REP. From the moment you enter the theatre, until the cast take their final bow the audience appeared transfixed and engaged as this version of CS Lewis’ classic tale came to life in what can only be described as a festive feast of a production!"

Alyson Knott from West Bromwich

If you loved lion, witch and wardrobe once upon a time, this won't disappoint. Very impressed with the theatre, cast, stage design and overall production. A must see for children and adults this christmas!

Joanne Tierney from Birmingham

My husband and I went to see this show on Saturday 13 December and took my son and my parents. My son enjoyed it very much and so did I. The costumes and set were very cleverly done especially the large coats used for the forest. Mrs Beaver had a lovely singing voice. I do not think you can beat live theatre whether it is a serious play or a Christmas show. Well done to everybody involved in the production.

Claire Field from Stratford upon Avon
