Forgotten for decades inside a mental hospital, three women escape their present by remembering their past. In the asylum’s hair salon, to the strains of Rick Astley and Glenn Miller they relive their wartime affairs, illicit trysts and childhood secrets.

The Idiot Colony is a visually stunning and inventive play based on real life accounts of the treatment and incarceration of ‘moral defectives’ in 1940s England. Genuinely funny and incredibly moving.

“An affecting, humorous piece of physical theatre”
The Times

“It has a sly sense of fun. One to catch…”
The Guardian

Saw this at the Fringe in 2008 and it was phenomenal. So good that I'm going to see it again hopefully during this tour. Minimal use of props but what they do use is very innovative. Go and see it and enjoy!!
