The REP, Thinktank and the University of Birmingham Medical School present a specially commissioned production and science trail for students aged 14+, at Thinktank Science Museum, Millenium Point.
The speckled monster stalked the world for over five thousand years; it killed ruthlessly and indiscriminately, cutting down entire communities.
It massacred kings and peasants, adults and children alike – it killed around three hundred million people in the twentieth century alone. This play tells the remarkable story of how the monster was stopped dead in its tracks.
The speckled monster, better known as smallpox, is the only disease to have been eradicated from the world through human effort.
To book, call Thinktank on 0121 202 2244 or email educationbookings@thinktank.ac.
Please note – The Speckled Monster is performed at Thinktank Science Museum.
