William Carlisle. The world at his feet. Its weight on his shoulders. Intelligent. Articulate. F***ed.
As the end of term approaches, a group of sixth-formers prepare themselves for the end of their school lives. But as the world begins to open up before them, they are faced with the very real danger it could swallow them whole.
A raw young cast expose the violence simmering under the surface of achieving success in a blistering new play by Simon Stephens, writer of Pornography and the Olivier Award-winning On The Shore Of The Wide World.
PUNK ROCK is written by Simon Stephens, one of the UK’s most exciting playwrights. His previous work includes the Edinburgh Festival Fringe hit Sea Wall (Traverse), Pornography (Tricycle / The REP 2008) and his recent critically acclaimed collaboration with writers David Eldridge and Robert Holman on A Thousand Stars Explode in the Sky (Lyric Hammersmith). This production sees him collaborating once again with director Sarah Frankcom, following their Oliver Award- winning production On the Shore of the Wide World for the National Theatre.
