It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife…

The ultimate romantic comedy, Jane Austen’s story of the five Bennet sisters and their relentless pursuit of suitable husbands is one of the best-loved novels ever written.

When feisty Elizabeth Bennet meets handsome bachelor Mr Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited. When she later discovers that he has scuppered the relationship between his friend Bingley and her beloved sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more than ever. In the sparkling comedy of manners that follows, the family’s lives are turned upside down as Jane Austen shows the folly of judging by first impressions and pokes gentle fun at the affectations and etiquette of provincial middle-class life.

Susan Hampshire plays the foolish and marriage-obsessed Mrs Bennet, one of Jane Austen’s most delightfully ridiculous comic creations.

With its elegant Georgian settings and wonderful comic characters, Pride And Prejudice is a perfect entertainment.

Me and my family went to see this production yesterday and it was great! The actors were all very professional and funny.
The actor playing Mr Collins deserves a special mention because he was fabulous.
Thanks for putting on a good show and I cant wait until the next one!

This was brilliant!

Yes, it was a little different from the book, as expected and as is the case with both the movie and the BBC mini-series, but it really was rather well acted. The comedy element, although altering Elizabeth's character slightly too much (in my opinion), was a well included addition.

If you're a Pride and Prejudice fan, this is a must! However, even if you are completely new to the classic, you will enjoy it as it appeals to a wider audience. I took my friend along with me and she loved it - we're both teenagers, so as you can imagine getting her to read the book was a bit too much, and thus she settled on watching the theatre production.

I am a die-hard P&P fan and have seen a number of different productions. This one was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Susan Hampshire was marvelous as was the actress palying Elizabeth Bennett. I was very surprised it was her debut performance - she was great. It was well worth the journey from the Peaks!
