Henry VI Part III: The Chaos
Sat 12 Jul 2008 – Sat 19 Jul 2008
The Door
By William Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Tim Ford
Following their outstanding productions of Antigone and The Laramie Project last year, The Young REP return with their most ambitious production to date.
Set during the War of the Roses, Shakespeare’s compelling play sees father set against son, and brother against brother as bloody battles rage in a divided nation.

We saw the Company rehearsing on the Rep Open Day and were so impressed decided we'd like to see more so booked tickets for the performance which we saw last night (Tues). We were not disappointed - the actors really made the parts their own - especially Grace as one of the most evil Richard III I have seen! I must also commend Adam El Hagar who spoke with 'authority' throughout and has a voice 'to die for' - his voice really does lend itself to the poetry of Shakespeare's writing. Two others who deserve special mention are Jasmine as Margaret and Lorna as Clifford, who both displayed incredible emotion. Congratulations to the Company as a whole, for producing an intense piece of theatre - I was exhausted by the end. Congratulations also to Tim Ford, the imagery was superb and the last link "Now..." to the next play in the History cycle was brillliant. Well done, looking forward to more. (Sorry this is such a long email, but I just had to say it all!!)

Saw it on Wednesday. it's a tremendous production - fast moving and inventive - with some excellent performances.

Congratulations on an excellent performance. The acting was stunning, the effects very dramatic. Given the context of warfare in the modern world this pathos of Shakespeare is not only a timeless comment but is a very reflective piece in the contemporary scene. These young people need to be highly commended for such a professional performance which is very inspirational. Director Tim Ford and other colleagues need to be congratulated for their complementary work. My attendance was a last minute decision and a chance cancelation - I was most fortunate not to miss this epic performance. Well done.

What can I say? It was an excellent performance. The characters were amazing with the facial expressions. The lighting added such a big affect, it was amazing. The sword fighting was brilliant to watch. York’s head was so realistic. Well done for an outstanding performance.

It was fantastic. Congratulations to all who took part and those behind the scenes. RSC standard - and we've seen them. We were impressed by the maturity and depth they brought to the parts (not the easiest of Shakespeare's plays). We look forward to future productions and hope you recieve well deserved rave reviews.
