Simon Banham

Simon Banham has spent the past 20 years designing and devising theatre. His work has been mainly freelance, occasionally associated with particular companies: Head of Design at the Contact Theatre, Manchester; Quarantine, aperformance research company, founder member (1999 � present) and a 20 year relationship with the contemporary chamber opera company Music Theatre Wales. Recent designs include Ion at the Opera National du Rhin in Strasbourg France, Don Giovanni for Opera Vest in Bergen Norway, Rantsoen for Victoria Theatre company and Quarantine in Gent Belgium. The premiere of A Cloud in Trousers for York Theatre Royal and Butterfly, a Quarantine project in association with the tramway theatre, Glasgow He also lectures in Scenography at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth
