Sarah Esdaile

Sarah has most recently directed The Lady in the Van ( Hull Truck and Number One Tour). She has directed The Deep Blue Sea, the world premiere of Crash by William Nicholson, Death of A Salesman and The Grouch, all for West Yorkshire Playhouse, where she has recently been made an Associate Director. Other work includes Cling to me Like Ivy ( Birmingham Rep and Tour); Life X 3 (the Watermill); The Horse Marines (Drum Theatre, Plymouth); Drowning On Dry Land (Salisbury Playhouse); Kafka’s Dick (Watford Palace); James And The Giant Peach (Octagon, Bolton), MEN Award, Best Family Show 2007; Crocodile Seeking Refuge (tour); Lysistrata (Arcola Theatre); Pictures Of Clay (Royal Exchange, Manchester); Young People’s Taming Of The Shrew (RSC); Compact Failure (Clean Break, Arcola Theatre and tour); Coyote On A Fence (Royal Exchange Manchester/Duchess Theatre, West End), MEN Award Best Fringe Production 2004; The Maiden’s Prayer (Bush Theatre); See How Beautiful I Am (Bush Theatre/Pleasance, Edinburgh); Bill And Esme (Chelsea Theatre); The Woolgatherer (BAC); The Boys Next Door (Latchmere); Downtown Paradise (Finborough Theatre/ Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff); Resistance (Old Red Lion); Loot (Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead); and_Sleeping Beauty_ (Birmingham Repertory Theatre).

Sarah was also an associate director at the RSC on Michael Boyd’s Oliver Award-winning productions of Henry VI Parts I, II and III, and Richard III.
