Richard G. Jones
Richard lit the actor musician Broadway Production of Sweeney Todd at the Eugene O’Neill Theater in New York, for which he was nominated for an Outer Circle Critics Award and won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lighting Design. For Birmingham REP Richard lit Blues In The Night; Ridin’ the Number 8 and a co-production with Graeae theatre company of Whiter Than Snow.
West End work includes Sunset Boulevard; Mack and Mabel; Sweeney Todd; Horrid Henry Live and Horrid; Steptoe and Son, When Pigs Fly and Female Parts. Other lighting designs include: The Homecoming; Death of a Salesman, A Taste of Honey, and A Man for all Seasons for York Theatre Royal; The Man Who, Chicken Soup with Barley, The White Album for Nottingham Playhouse; Spongebob Squarepants the Sponge that could fly! for the UK and South African tours; Ich war noch niemals in New York at the Operettanhaus in Hamburg, Germany.
Richard has recently lit The Railway Children at the old Eurostar terminal at Waterloo Station; The Hot Mikado and Copacabana, for The Watermill Theatre Newbury; Oliver Twist and The Hired Man, for the Octagon Theatre Bolton; A Pair of Pinter’s, for Derby Live; Canterbury Tales, for Northern Broadsides; City of Angels for the Bridewell Theatre London; Behud for Soho Theatre London.
Richard is currently working on designs for Amy’s View for Nottingham Playhouse; Jack and The Beanstalk for York Theatre Royal and Celebrating Christmas for The salvation Army at the Royal Albert Hall.
