Karl trained at Bush Davies in East Grinstead and Arts Educational School, London . Since leaving he has worked in all areas of the profession.

Theatre work includes seasons at Birmingham, Manchester, Windsor, Basingstoke, Farnham, Liverpool, Leatherhead and Peterborough.

Roles he has played include Graham Dodd in The Entertainer, Greg in Relatively Speaking and Guy Bennett in Another Country (Farnham); David in The Reluctant Debutante and The Anniversary (Basingstoke); Aston in The Caretaker (tour); John Maxwell in Secrets And Rumours (Orange Tree, Richmond and Guildford); Max in Dial M For Murder (tour); Dennis Bradshaw in Mixed Feelings (Chesterfield); Erhart Borkman in John Gabriel Borkman (tour); Albert Tufnell in Sailor Beware (Salisbury); Christopher Wren in The Mousetrap (St Martins Theatre, London); Lazar in A Family Affair (tour) and Pt. Mason in Journey’s End (tour).

Karl has toured in the musicals Crazy For You (Lank Hawkins); The Girlfriend (Bobby); Charlie Girl (Fred); Godspell (Judas); The Boyfriend (Marcel); The King And I (Phar Alack).
Pantomime appearances in Aladdin (Genie of the Lamp) and _ Dick Whittington_ (King Rat).

Television and film credits include: The Other Side of the Screen, Vinnie in Dream Boys, Postie in One Day At A Time, Tony Mackay in Conspiracy, Pegler in Anything’s Possible, James in Demob, Joe Davis in The Brittas Empire, Alistair Andrews in Heartbeat, The Bill on a number of occasions playing both the good guy and bad guys parts, Dave Lyons in The Guildford Gang, John Simpson in Respect, Andy Mann in Paparazzi, Chaos And Cadavers, 7%, Oh How Your Gardens Grows, Ole’.

Karl has also appeared in cabaret and concerts over the years including playing Noel Coward at revue in Darjeeling, India. A regular in commercials over the years, Karl has advertised everything from Thomas Cook Holidays to 80’s pop music.
