Jeremy Huw Williams

The Welsh baritone Jeremy Huw Williams studied at St John’s College, Cambridge, at the National Opera Studio, and with April Cantelo. He made his debut with Welsh National Opera as Guglielmo Cosi Fan Tutti since when he has appeared in fifty operatic roles. He has given performances at major venues in North and South America, Australia, Hong Kong, and most European countries. Engagements last season included many recordings for the BBC, Chou En Lai Nixon In China for the Greek National Opera, and concerts and recitals throughout the UK and Europe. In 2007/08 he sings Choregos/Jack Ketch Punch And Judy at the Royal Opera House (Linbury Studio) and the world premiere of Michael Berkeley’s For You on tour with Music Theatre Wales, and swaps roles to sing the title role Nixon In China in Verona. In concert this season, he performs Carmina Burana with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Faure’s Le Bonne Chanson with the English Chamber Orchestra, and Dutilleux’s Sonnets De Jean Cassou with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
