Christopher Lemmings

With recent triumphs as Caliban in Thomas Ad’s’ The Tempest at both the Royal Opera (broadcast on television) and Opera National du Rhin in Strasbourg; Beauty in Gerald Barry’s Triumph of Beauty and Deceit with the Los Angeles Philhrmonic, with the Ives Ensemble at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and on tour with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, conducted by Thomas Ad’s; and a much acclaimed CD of Ned Rorem songs, Christopher Lemmings has secured his position as one of the leading tenors in his repertoire. He recently completed a return engagement at the Opera National de Paris, Bastille (Kaija Saariaho’s Adriana Mater) and made his BBC Proms debut in Mozart’s Thamos, Konig in Agypten. He also sang John Casken’s Golem with the opera companies of Nantes, Angers and Rennes, Basilio Le Nozze di Figaro at Buxton, and Pulcinella at the Aldeburgh Festival. Future plans include Zimmermann’s Die Soldaten for the Ruhr Triennale; Sellem The Rakes Progress for Angers-Nantes Opera; and further performances of Triumph of Beauty and Deceit at Carnegie Hall.
