Spark Toy Theatres Project

Upcoming Performances
This theatre education project involves Key Stage 2 classes from six Birmingham schools, along with classes from several Stoke on Trent and Telford schools. Pupils from each school write short plays in classroom workshops with playwrights, and make their own toy theatres to perform them in.
During the last week of term, two plays from each class are performed to other schools at The REP as part of a four day long Festival of Plays. On each day of the festival, one of the plays is also rehearsed and performed to the pupils and their teachers by professional actors in a life sized toy theatre in The Door.
The Toy Theatres project is part of Spark, Provident Financial’s flagship community programme created to provide opportunities for schoolchildren to learn and develop through the arts and is part of a three year long project to provide arts education opportunities in schools.
